For the eastern North Pacific, east of 140 degrees west longitude:
One named storm, Adrian, formed in the eastern North Pacific basin
in May. Adrian marked the earliest formation of the first named
storm of the year in the basin on record. On average a named storm
forms in the basin in May about once every other year. The second
tropical depression of the season was ongoing at end of the month.
