000 ABPZ30 KNHC 011414 TWSEP Monthly Tropical Weather Summary NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL 800 AM PDT Mon Jun 1 2020 For the eastern North Pacific, east of 140 degrees west longitude: One tropical cyclone formed in the basin in May, Tropical Storm Amanda. On average, a named storm forms in the basin in May about once every other year. In addition, Tropical Depression One-E formed in the basin in late April. This marked the earliest formation of a tropical cyclone in the basin since the satellite era began in 1966.
