000 ABPZ30 KNHC 011407 TWSEP Monthly Tropical Weather Summary NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL 800 AM PDT Fri Jun 1 2018 For the eastern North Pacific, east of 140 degrees west longitude: One tropical cyclone formed in the basin in May. Tropical Depression One-E formed on May 10, five days before the start of the season, and did not strengthen into a named storm. On average, a tropical storm forms in the month of May about once every other year.
