000 ABPZ30 KNHC 011425 TWSEP Monthly Tropical Weather Summary NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL 800 AM PDT Mon Jul 1 2019 For the eastern North Pacific, east of 140 degrees west longitude: Tropical cyclone activity in the eastern Pacific basin in June ended up being close to normal in terms of the number of storms. Two tropical cyclones formed, one of which reached hurricane strength. Based on a 30-year (1981-2010) climatology, this activity is near normal. In terms of Accumulated Cyclone Energy (ACE), which measures the strength and duration of tropical storms and hurricanes, activity in the basin so far in 2019 is about 40 percent of normal.
